Best Women’s Cycling Jacket | Stylish Luca Momentum Jacket Review
High-quality jacket that looks great.
Sleek design with subtle Luca logos on the back, shoulder and arm.
Reasonable capacity rear pockets with water drainage holes
Two spacious front fleece lined pockets that will easily fit a phone in.

The Luca Momentum Jacket is a fitted, stylish waterproof women’s cycling jacket that delivers both performance and comfort. It feels premium straight out of the recyclable envelope, with a sleek, minimalist design that looks great on and off the bike. I opted for the black version, though it’s also available in grey.

The jacket features two zipped front pockets at the waist and three open rear pockets, each with a drainage hole to prevent water build-up — a nice addition. The front pockets are fleece-lined and large enough to comfortably hold a phone or other essentials.  the pockets are also lovely for when you stop and want to warm your hands up!

The branding is subtle, with reflective Luca logos on the sleeve, left shoulder, back neck, and centre rear pocket. This women’s cycling jacket isn’t bulky and can be rolled up to fit into a jersey pocket if needed, though I wouldn’t classify it as a truly packable jacket.  The zip has a flap at the top, that covers the zip whe it is fully done up, so no rubbing on the underneath of your chin.

Sizing

I went for my usual size, and while it fits well, it’s definitely a snug, performance cut. If you prefer a roomier fit or plan to layer up underneath, I’d recommend sizing up. The material has a little give, offering a comfortable fit without feeling restrictive, though it’s not a “stretchy” fabric.

The body length in this women’s cycling jacket is slightly shorter than some other women’s cycling jackets, but when worn with bib shorts there was no gap at the back. However, if you’re wearing shorts with a waistband, you may notice a slight gap. The silicone gripper at the hem keeps the jacket securely in place while riding.

The sleeves are close-fitting with a shaped seam at the elbow, making them feel natural in a bent elbow cycling position. Overall, this is a jacket that favours an aerodynamic fit — ideal for riders who like a streamlined silhouette.

Functionality

The Luca Momentum Women’s Cycling Jacket performs impressively well in wet and windy conditions. It’s fully waterproof, windproof, and breathable, which is a rare combination. During testing, it handled light to moderate rain comfortably without overheating, striking a great balance between protection and ventilation. The high-quality construction and attention to detail really shine through.  It has a triple layered construction which gives the high performance of this jacket.

Value

While the Luca Momentum Women’s Cycling Jacket represents a bit of an investment, it’s worth every penny. The craftsmanship, design, and durability easily justify the price tag. It’s the kind of jacket you’ll reach for again and again — and with repeated use, the cost per wear quickly becomes excellent value. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for.

Recommendation

I would definitely recommend the Luca Momentum Jacket to cyclists who value performance, comfort, and style. It’s a premium piece of kit that feels as good as it looks — perfect for riders who appreciate quality gear that goes the distance.

  • Sleek design with subtle Luca logos on the back, shoulder and arm.
  • Reasonable capacity rear pockets with water drainage holes
  • Two spacious front fleece lined pockets that will easily fit a phone in.
CONS
  • The three pockets on the back are quite high up my back and don’t have much stretch so I struggled to reach around to them while riding.
  • Zip pulls are tiny on the front pockets, I couldn’t open them easily in my thick gloves.
  • The body length of the jacket is shorter than some.
  • Limited reflectivity for low light conditions.
